What the Critics Say

"Wonderful seafood and fantastic beef are the métiers of this vibrant Sand Lake chain link, a supper-club facsimile where the service is just as superb; expectedly for the genre, it's a bit pricey, but it's nevertheless a great choice for entertaining clients or friends or just an excellent drink at the bar, featuring live music and a happening scene any night of the week."
-Zagat Survey, 2012

"Millennial supper club with dazzling bling in décor and drinks. More glitz in ginger salmon, Kobe burgers and truffle deviled eggs."
-Golden Brand, Florida Trend's Golden Spoon Awards, 2012

"With six locations in five states, the upscale chain Ocean Prime deserves at least a sliver of the credit for the mainstreaming of the Prohibition-era cocktail, with its Cucumber Gimlets, Whiskey Clovers and Strawberry Smashes. But its signature show-stopper is still one of its silliest drinks: The Berries & Bubbles. Chunks of dry ice are added to a rich purple mix of citrus vodka, Champagne, marinated berries and house-made sour mix, and the end result is a raucously bubbling brew that's guaranteed to turn heads around the bar. The fruit flavor is intense, the bubbles add texture and the dry ice gives it a strangely intoxicating aroma (and creates ice on the stem). It's pulpy, it's preposterous ... and somehow, it makes perfect sense."

"Best Seafood: Of the area's many seafood restaurants, the best around is Ocean Prime which combines a lively Sinatra-inspired supper club atmosphere with a menu filled with fresh ocean fare and service that is simply unsurpassed. "
-Frommer's, 2010

"With details such as bar shelves that are backlit for drama and bold jazz music playing in the dining room, Ocean Prime clearly is in the hands of people who know how to set a classy mood.

Salt n Pepper Tuna is one of the best tuna dishes I’ve had. Two large chunks of fish (they were practically the size of Rubik’s Cubes) were seared on the outside, very rare within.

Ocean Prime is a destination restaurant that should be taken seriously. With its eager service, it’s a good bet for business dinners, and its warm amber lighting will appeal to couples seeking a romantic evening escape."
-Orlando Magazine, 2009

"The Modern American Supper Club is the newest addition to Sand Lake Road, but the cool retro style of its setting and service are setting it apart from others on restaurant row.

The interior is prairie elegant, with lots of wood, subdued lighting and a little hint of Frank Lloyd Wright. The wait staffs' crisp white dinner jackets add to the ambience."

Ocean Prime is heating up Sand Lake Road Dining Scene
The most upscale of the new restaurants opening in Rialto complex at the corner of Sand Lake and Turkey Lake roads has to be Ocean Prime, a sleek, modern supper club with excellent seafood and steaks and lively bar scene with even livelier music. To walk into the tall space is like walking into a party that has already gotten off to a high-energy start.
-The West Orange Times, Mary Ann Swickerath

"****. A well-run operation delivers on its promises of upscale fish and meat."
-The Columbus Dispatch, 2010

"Ocean Prime is one of those restaurants that you’ll say for weeks afterward… “man, that was a really great meal.” I’m no food critic — just your average diner who knows what she likes. My verdict: I really like Ocean Prime and can’t wait to head back again."
